Maybe there is something we can remove in the graphics card support drivers that will kill the jump animation. The customers were able to figure out how to get around the stupid launcher, surely we can come up with something.
Single client low settings and I'm still seeing lag in the jump graphics - and no I don't have an old card.
And on top of everything else - after exiting station I'm getting black screens, with a few assorted in space items showing but totally not able to change my view orientation. Dumped my cache and restarted the computer. Hopefully this clears it up.

Half a dozen stealth patches later - and we still can't get a simple off switch?

Siresa Talesi wrote:The EVE launcher currently has a link in the lower left corner for an Odyssey player feedback survey. I suggest that everyone dissatisfied with the jumpgate animation (or any other new feature) take the time to fill it out.
The survey is actually very thourough in covering all aspects of the expansion, and it is very easy to indicate which details you like and dislike.
Well that's one way to get a biased survey results - everyone that hates the launcher or are unable to use it because of exceeding the laughable login limit are not running it. Well played CCP!

What I found fascinating is how crazy the animation looks when TiDi is in full swing. Did the dev's have anyone watch this for several minutes in one swing?

Previous post attempt ganked - fix forum posting already
Still looking for off switch for the jump animation. Find it distressing, slower and have you seen it under extreme TiDi? That's barf inducing for sure. CCP Punkturis-á "I want to get in on the goodposter circle jerk!"

Patch fail - didn't include jump animation off switch. So much for understanding CCP.

For some reason though, they have long since gone silent and have adopted the usual "treat our customers like crap" mantra that has become SOP for CCP of late. devs.

Well at least the latest releases have totally crushed the cyno based jump animation. Finally something done right about that. CCP Punkturis-á "I want to get in on the goodposter circle jerk!"

Is it really that surprising that people would want to have the option to turn off a feature that was causing them physical discomfort and pain? The devs even admitted there was a problem, they just appear to have chosen to not do anything about it (contrary to their earlier promises). Whether the developers agree there is a problem or not does not have any impact on what I said, which was a broad statement against the trends of EVE players negatively reacting to visual improvements in the game. In fact, your signature points out quite succinctly how ridiculous the trend is: Quote:Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that. - Kina Ayami Visual improvements and eye candy very rarely add anything to gameplay, and "annoying" is subjective. So based on the above quote: the entire V3 project is useless, Trinity graphical expansion was useless, new nebula were useless, new turrets and missile launchers were useless, new death animations are useless, etc etc etc.
Nice hijack attempt. Your broad statement really helped out here.
While it certainly causes me discomfort, many customers have said this particular "nice" thing does in fact cause physical symptoms. (Here's pukin' at you!) You'd think CCP would really try to avoid getting a rep for making customers physically ill, but hey - they like that rotten fish that smells like ammonia. One of these days their lawyers will wake up....
